about!

lingqi xu is a chinese-born artist living and creating in toronto. she specializes in drawing and painting, illustration, and experimental comics. her favourite mediums include graphite and colour pencils, which allows her to explore different textures. she is drawn to works that distorts the familiar: where figures and everyday objects are transformed into symbolic or estranged forms that reflect the inner human psyche. her work aims to capture the irrational feelings of unease in a dreamy and child-like world.

lingqi also graduated from an animation degree and has been working in vis-dev and game developement for the past 4 years.

in her spare time, she enjoys books, old movies, early 2000’s emoviolence, tending to her plants and floating in water.
